Elon Musk was a key speaker at 'The B Word' Conference that was held today, in which he revealed that SpaceX currently holds bitcoin. SpaceX's bitcoin holdings had not been previously disclosed publicly before this.
The revelation came out in an hour long panel along with key speakers Cathie Woods (Ark Invest) and Jack Dorsey (Twitter/Square). You can watch the full panel here.
Elon Musk went on the disclose that he personally has invest into bitcoin, ethereum and, of course, dogecoin. Elon Musk has made headlines in recent months as being the public figure spearheading the meme-coin to new heights.
Publicly traded electric automobile manufacturer Tesla, who invested $1.5 billion into bitcoin back in February, is still holding bitcoin, Musk said. Bitcoin price experienced a pre-conference pump by the highest percentage in weeks. At the highs on Wednesday, bitcoin price was sitting at $32,800, a 10% increase in the past 24 hours.
At its peak, Dogecoin was up 19% on Wednesday to about 20 cents.
Musk also said that bitcoin's energy usage is improving and that Tesla would 'most likely' resume accepting bitcoin payments for its cars again after doing some due diligence. Bitcoin price sharply fell back in May when Musk first announced that Tesla would be halting bitcoin payments for it products due to energy usage concerns over bitcoin.
