How to Connect Your Wallet To Instagram To Display Your Digital Collectibles

Social media giant Instagram started beta testing their ‘digital collectibles’ feature in May 2022, allowing some select users in the NFT space to connect their wallets and showcase the NFTs that they want to on their profile feed, providing a direct connection to view more information about the NFT.

The feature currently supports third-party wallets Coinbase Wallet, Dapper Wallet, MetaMask, Rainbow, and Trust Wallet. The feature currently supports the blockchains Ethereum, Polygon, and Flow. There are no fees associated with posting or sharing your NFTs using the feature on Instagram.

HOW TO CONNECT YOUR WALLET:

1. Tap the menu on the top right of your home menu page. In the menu, tap on the newly added ‘Digital Collectibles’ tab.

2. In the next page, you will be directed to select which wallet you will be connecting to Instagram/Meta. You can currently select from Coinbase Wallet, Dapper Wallet, MetaMask, Rainbow, and Trust Wallet. After you have selected your wallet, go ahead and hit ‘Continue and Agree’

3. You will be redirected to your wallet app, where you will have to connect your wallet to Instagram. After you press connect, you will be redirected to your wallet again to sign a message to confirm ownership of the wallet, and complete the wallet connection to Instagram/Meta.

4. Your wallet is now connected, you can now browse your collection of NFTs and select which you would like to showcase on your profile. Enjoy!

While the feature is currently reserved for showcasing your NFTs, with the potential of the ability of minting and buying/selling NFTs being implemented into the platform in the future. However, the new added feature stands as a great opportunity to use Instagram’s Digital Collectibles feature to market and monetize your collection.
